Dr. Adewale Ashogbon is an Assistant Professor of Cybersecurity at Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri. He earned his Ph.D. from Northcentral University in California, where his research examined the role of Diffusion of Innovation Theory in cloud computing adoption. His research interests span information systems security, cybersecurity, information technology risk and compliance, cloud computing security, AI and machine learning security, and data governance.
With more than a decade of professional experience, Dr. Ashogbon has worked across the public and private sectors in cybersecurity and information systems audit, information systems management, enterprise risk management, and data governance. He previously served as Director of Application Technology Audit at Morgan Stanley. He is also a conference speaker on cybersecurity and emerging technology and has published in information technology engineering journals.
Dr. Ashogbon advocates for the systematic application of industry frameworks, standards, leading practices, and regulations—including SOX, PCI DSS, ISO/IEC 27000-series standards, FFIEC guidance, GLBA, NIST, COBIT, CIS Controls, FISMA, and GDPR—to strengthen enterprise governance, risk, and compliance strategies. He has served on the ISC2 Examination Material Review Committee and is an active member of ISC2 and ISACA.
